Yes they are durable stainless steel and with reasonable care should last a lifetime

can you use this with wood wicks?

These appear to only have holes to secure cotton wicks for candle making. I did not see how it could support a wood wick

Why is the center hole off center?

The little notch in the center hole should be centered if the wick holder fits your vessel properly. Slide your wick into the little notch to hold it securely in place
