I've been using Wasabi batteries for several months in my Panasonic HDC-HS900 video camera. I've been very, very pleased with their quality and perfomance. Recently, I purchased the Nikon D5100 and I was pleasantly surprised to find that Wasabi was just about to release their newly de-coded batteries for my camera. I pre-ordered them and they arrived a few days ago. I'm finding that these batteries are better than the original Nikon battery because they have more power and last longer. These are de-coded and can be used directly in the camera just like the original Nikon battery which means they can work directly in the camera and not just in an external battery holder like other similar off-brand batteries have to be used. Since they are de-coded, they work just like the original Nikon battery and WILL NOT give error messages when they are put into the camera unlike other off-brand batteries. The charger is well-made and comes with a car lighter adapter if you need to charge the batteries while on the go. The price for these batteries/charger as compared to original Nikon batteries/charger is significantly less but the quality is equal to, if not better. I highly recommend these batteries and charger. I purchased a battery grip for my Nikon D5100, and read reviews that the cheapo $3 + $5 shipping EN-EL14 knockoffs work fine in the battery grip as long as you use them with an authentic EN-EL14. However, I didn't want to be in a pickle if my EN-EL14 was out of juice, and I had heard of problems with charging the knockoffs in the standard charger. I decided on the Wasabi battery kit because the reviews tell me I can trust them to work and they do! The charger has a red LED for charging and a green LED for charged, which is very straightforward. The batteries charge in less than 2 hours and last longer than the Nikon EN-EL14 (1300 mAh vs 1030 mAh). These are decoded batteries, so they will also work in the camera individually - you don't need a battery grip. Wasabi Power's 3 year warranty on the kit tells me that they are prepared to stand by the quality of their batteries, and that means I can probably trust them to be in my camera or battery grip and not damage the camera. The DC adapter seems like it will be very handy. It all seems well built and the batteries fit snugly into my D5100. This kit is great for someone who doesn't need the Nikon-branded batteries but who doesn't want to take the risk of spending only $3 on a battery that doesn't have a warranty.

Better price and better quality than some of the XXXX brand which did not decode for the Nikons and cost twice as much from one of those battery stores. I have about ten chargers and twenty batteries from them and all work perfect for a myriad of cameras we use in our wedding operation. Good stuff, period. Hint and trick for the pros. The chargers have a click in place face plate as the 8.4 volt batteries are the same except for the pin layout. Thus if you have clumsy employees, they will loosen the plate. It just slides and grips in place. Four drops of model airplane cement preferred or MEK (not crazy glue, but epoxy ok, Gorilla OK) on the tabs made the top permanent and solid. No connection failures, no problems... se do this with all of these wall warts but the WASABI have been flawless.

Purchased 2 battery pack with charger in January 2016, arrived fully charged and were recognized by my Nikon P7100. I put the batteries away, as I was going to use as backups during vacation this summer. Re-opened battery packaging Memorial Day weekend and topped off batteries on charger... popped into Nikon.. and... nothing.... camera seemed to not recognize batteries, and I was bummed to say least. However, I noticed the battery has what looks like 2 plastic infrared "windows", that I presume is used to communicate to the camera... 1 slim window next to the battery pins, and 1 larger window on the battery's longest side, opposite the battery connector pins. I gently wiped these windows several times with a moistened cloth, as well as the battery pins... and Voila...camera recognized the batteries and I made sure to keep the camera on for a few minutes while taking some snaps... I turned the camera on/off several times to make sure the batteries were recognized, took 'em out and put back in... and so far so good... my fingers remain crossed..!! I am going to run these batteries down and re-charge again to make sure they work, but hope the above may help others who experience their camera not recognizing these Wasabi "Nikon chipped" batteries. I have Wasabi batteries for my Pentax dslr, and can say they are reliable, but provide perhaps only 70% to 80% of battery life use per charge than the Pentax OEM batteries, and am hoping their Nikon versions are a little better. However, cost of a Wasabi 2 pack with fast charger is less than 1 Pentax OEM battery, so the cost value can't be beat!!

I was initially skeptical about this product and have waited to post a review until I felt I could accurately say this product is the real deal. I consider myself a semi-professional photographer and therefore take lots a pictures as part of my job. I have always hated how expensive replacement Nikon brand batteries were and I have finally found a cheap replacement that works EXACTLY the same as my previous Nikon battery. *This charger has a convenient indicator light that turns from a yellow color to green when the battery is finished charging. I've noticed that batteries take an average of 2.5 hours to go from completely empty to fully charged, though the time might be significantly less if there is still some juice in the battery. *Charger keeps battery secure in its holder, a definite plus when I place the charger on a wall making the battery lie vertically. There is a clip that holds the bottom of the battery to keep it from falling out, but comes unclipped with just a a little pull of the battery. *Lastly, the charger appears to actually stop the battery from charging unlike other cheap replacement products I have tried in the past. I have had no complaints whatsoever after using this product for nearly 6 months. This product will continue to get my business

I am a very careful buyer of products. When I placed order for this product, I was a little scared of its functionality with my Camera Nikon D5100, B'cos I had purchased an unknown battery before and had to return it back. This battery worked as a charm. I had not troubled charging this with original Nikon chargers and also worked perfectly well with my Camera. I did not have any issues with the product, and the other accessories that came along with, the car charger works well too. Top class product for the price.
