Does this work on aluminum rims too? 2016 Honda pilot

If they are chrome it will work great!

Is this polish abrasive? Could it cut through a thin chrome plating on antique espresso machine?

This product is formulated to clean, shine and protect automotive chrome pate without being abrasive. On aged or distressed chrome, it would be recommended to test in an inconspicuous area if that's possible, but it is a gentle polish and on chrome plate that is intact is is completely safe. Keep in mind that this is an automotive polish and not a household polish, but the chrome plated metal process would be the same on either. Will this work on black car rims?

Probably too abrasive for "black car rims." It's really meant to polish metal and steel, and remove microscopic amounts of metal each time it's used. Are your rims anodized, plated aluminum? It'll probably strip that off...eventually. Months of use, years of use? Depends on pressure used, amount, etc. Are your rims painted with black paint? It'll probably strip that off. See avove.
