One review says you have to use Klein Tools crimper. Has anuone had success with cheaper crimpers?

Hi I have attached many pass through connectors and did not use the Klein tool but I do believe this is a quality product. I used a good quality tool probably slightly cheaper than the Klein but you only get what you pay for and spending a bit more on the crimper may save you money on wasted expensive connectors. I suggest you do a little digging and pick a tool with good reviews that has a price you are happy to pay. I would not recommend the cheap and nasty tools hope this helps. I always use the pass through connectors from Klein but a tip is to use sharp cutters to snip the end of the cable or you will throw up a burr and the cables will not pass through the very tiny holes in the end of the plug

Do these plugs work with cat 5e cable?

hi Cat 6 has thicker copper wire than Cat 5E and I do believe you can get a plug to suit both cables in the klein plug range. I have used these plugs on Cat 6 cable and they where fine just make sure you use good sharp tools to cut the cable so no burrs are put on the end of the cable and they will pass through the holes easily in the plugs . Hope this helps
